1 5

Phebe Hospital and School of Nursing in Bong County, and Curran Lutheran Hospital in Lofa County, have launched a collaborative process.

The initiative is to develop a comprehensive five-year strategic plan to improve services, expand institutional capacity, and ensure long-term sustainability.

The initiative began with a two-day leadership workshop held at a resort in Zoweinta, Kpaai District, Bong County.

The workshop brought together hospital administrators, healthcare professionals, and management consultants.

Subah-Belleh Associates, a management consulting firm, facilitated the workshop with full participation from healthcare professionals and administrators from the two institutions.

Participants evaluated the current status of both institutions and outline a clear roadmap for future growth.

A key component of the workshop was a comprehensive SWOT analysis, a strategic planning exercise designed to identify institutional strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

Participants also examined areas where the hospitals have performed well while also identified challenges that affected their ability to meet future healthcare demands.

Discussions focused on improving healthcare service delivery, strengthening human resource development, enhancing financial sustainability, and expanding infrastructure to better serve patients.

Participants then explored strategies to improve operational efficiency and ensure that both institutions remain resilient in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.

The five-year strategic plan is expected to serve as a guiding framework for decision-making, resource allocation, and institutional development.

The plan will also strengthen healthcare services and improve health outcomes for Liberians, who rely on their facilities.

Founded through the efforts of the Lutheran Church and partner churches, Phebe Hospital and Curran Lutheran Hospital, have played a critical role in healthcare delivery and medical training for decades.

The institutions continue to provide essential medical services to communities.

Did they have any unique decorations at the hospital? It’s always interesting to see how couples personalize their venues.
