CSNL Condemns Acts of Impersonation by Presley Tenwah and Elvis Johnson

In a release over the weekend, the Civil Society Network of Liberia (CSNL) said  it notes with grave concern and unequivocally condemns the criminal and fraudulent acts of Mr. Presley Tenwah and Mr. Elvis D. Johnson who falsely represented themselves as General Manager for Liberia and Public Relations Executive and Operations Manager respectively of Global Tracking & Maritime Solutions Liberia Inc. (GTMS Liberia Inc.). Such brazen impersonation of corporate officials is not only a violation of Liberian law, but a direct assault on corporate integrity, investor confidence, and the sanctity of lawful business operations in Liberia.

“The Civil Society Network of Liberia sees it as gravely troubling for Mr. Tenwah and Johnson to parade themselves in executive capacities of the GTMS Liberia through false appointments made by one Sahr H. W. Ngegba who presents himself as a director of the company. This is a dangerous trend where unscrupulous individuals exploit the names of reputable concessionaires and service providers for personal aggrandizement, extortion, and to mislead government institutions, partners and the public.” The release continued.

The CSNL says it views GTMS Liberia Inc. as a critical partner in Liberia’s maritime and tracking solutions sector, and any attempt to impersonate its leadership undermines regulatory order and creates confusion in the public space. We commend the management of GTMS Liberia Inc. for swiftly distancing itself from these impostors and alerting the public and for taking civil and criminal proceedings against Messrs. Tenwah and Johnson through the Global Lead Counsel of AFDASA Global for falsely representing themselves as officers of the company, misleading the public, and causing significant operational disruption and reputational harm.

In this regard, the Civil Society Network of Liberia welcomes the legal action taken by the Monrovia City Court and fully supports the prosecution of Presley Tenwah and Elvis Johnson. We believe that swift and impartial prosecution will serve as a strong deterrence to others who may contemplate similar fraudulent schemes, especially in the corporate sector. Impunity for corporate impersonation must not be allowed to take root in Liberia. We call on the Monrovia City Court to ensure that this matter is pursued to its logical conclusion without fear or favor.

Finally, CSNL calls on all media institutions, government ministries and agencies, and the general public to remain vigilant and to always verify representation claims directly with GTMS Liberia Incorporated through its legitimate channels. We reaffirm our commitment to defending transparency, accountability, and the rule of law in Liberia’s business environment.
