Anti Koffa’s Group Suspends Pro-Koffa’s Lawmakers

Members of the majority block of the 55th House of representatives has with immediate effect suspended Rep. Marvin J. Cole of Bong county#3, Rep. Abu Kamara of District#15, Montserrado County and Rep. Edward P. Flomo of District#13 Montserrado County for thirty meeting days without legislative benefits and that they should distance themselves from any legislative functions. The decision came in wake of the aforementioned lawmakers’ failure to appear before the investigative committee of the whole for allegations of gross disrespect and public disrepute to the Honorable House of Representatives. The body said their decision is in line with the house’s standing rules 48.1. Meanwhile, Rep Frank Saah Foko, Rep. Alex S. Noah and Rep. Zinnah Norman are still undergoing investigation by the committee of the whole and decision will be taken on (November 21, 2024) as to whether they can come to the committee for investigation. In another development, the body has unanimously voted to remove Representative Dixon Seboe and Representative Ellen Attoh Wreh as Chair and Co-Chair on the Ways, Means, Finance, and Budget Committee.  They have mandated the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of Liberia, and all commercial banks not to do business with them on behalf of the House of Representatives. In addition, Rep. Mike Jurry of District#1 Maryland County has been appointed as acting chair on Ways Means and Finance, Rep. James Kolleh of District#2, Bong County has been appointed as acting chair on Rules , Order, and Administration, Rep. Prince Koniah of District#1, Bong County has replaced Rep. Dorwon Gleekia as an acting member on the committee of Public Accounts and Audit of the 55th House of Representatives.
