Woman Arrested At RIA With 3.355Kg Of Cocaine

Officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Special Detachment assigned at the Roberts International Airport (RIA), has arrested a 39-year-old Liberian woman for trafficking a “significant quantity of cocaine.”

The agency identified the arrested woman as Quita Kosso Dolo.

According to the LDEA, Madam Dolo was arrested around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

Suspect Dolo, a resident of Congo Town, was apprehended shortly after arriving on Kenya Airways flight KQ887 from Nairobi, Kenya, transiting through Bangkok, Thailand.

According to the agency, it was during a routine security search, LDEA agents discovered 10 compressed plates of a white powdery substance, concealed in her luggage.

The search became necessary after the suspect was cleared by immigration and customs, that the LDEA officers became suspicious and conducted a secondary search.

The last search, the agency said, led to the substance being discovered and tested by LDEA laboratory technicians, and subsequently confirmed to be cocaine, weighing 3.355 kilograms.

In her preliminary statement, suspect Dolo alleged that she was contacted by a long-time friend known as Henry Iki, a Nigerian national, residing in Nigeria.

LDEA said, the suspected confirmed that Iki had instructed her to collect a suitcase from his associate in Thailand, and transport it to Monrovia.
She claimed she was unaware that the suitcase contained ‘illegal drugs,’ and was told it only contained clothing.

She was reportedly directed to deliver the suitcase to a man in Monrovia identified as “Obi,” another Nigerian.

In a related development, at about 1:30 a.m., an individual believed to be Tony Obi, a 38-year-old Nigerian, who is reportedly the brother of Henry Iki, attempted to bribe LDEA officers at RIA to secure the release of both Madam Dolo and the suitcase.

Obi, the report said, was immediately arrested and is now in custody, undergoing further investigation along with suspect Dolo.

The seized 3.355 kg of cocaine has an estimated street value of US$181,008 or L$36,201,600.

The LDEA reiterates its zero-tolerance policy on illicit drugs and remains committed to enforcing the country’s new drug law, which makes drug-related crimes non-bailable offences.

The agency has meanwhile, warned all would-be traffickers that the full weight of the law will be applied if they are caught in the act.

The LDEA therefore urges the public to assist in the fight against drug trafficking by reporting any suspicious activities via its hotline: 0777-133-333.
