Activist Wants Musa Bility Resigned

A call has been made for the resignation of Representative Musa Hasan Bility from his position.

The call came in the wake of Bility’s forceful push for his political agenda to become the country next president by 2029.

A lone community-based activist, John Alexander Nyahn, Jr.,has called for the resignation of Rep. Bility, who is representing Nimba County electoral District #5 in the 55th Legislature.

Alex Nyahn, is a community development activist, and a son of Nimba County District #7.

He has meanwhile urged Rep. Bility to step down as a representative of the district.

This call comes after Bility’s recently announced his decision to relinquish his chairmanship on the ‘House Rule of Law Caucus’ to focus on his role as leader of his own founded political party, the Citizens Movement for Change (CMC).

Nyahn, Jr. questions the inconsistency Bility’s decision, stating: “You were previously urged to quit the district representation to focus on your presidency dream; a call which you did not receive in good faith. Now, you’re stepping down as caucus chair to prioritize CMC ambitions, yet you remain a representative of District #7. What’s the deal?” Nyahn, Jr. rhetorically asked.

In response, Edwin Dopoe, Public Relations Officer for the Bility campaign, fired back.

Dopoe called on Nyahn, Jr. to resign as a civil society actor instead, to pursue his own political ambition.

During the interactions, Saye M. Lakpor, weighed in by dismissing Bility’s decision to step down as a “mere political talk.”

Lakpor criticized Nyahn, Jr.’s call as a “wrong statement coming from a civil society actor.” Saclepea former City Mayor, Jeremiah B. Yangean, also pealed when he characterized Nyahn, Jr.’s statement as “politically motivated.”

Nyahn, Jr. call was contained in a statement he made on Tuesday, August 19, 2015, when he called on Radio Truth FM 96.9, “Nimba Breakfast Show: Wake Up Liberia.”
