Dr. Abba Karnga, a legendary, and tall Bassa figure, a man of immense wisdom, and statute says, the Bassa people are pillars of unity, and envious democracy.
Karnga, officially 96 years old, still reads without using glasses.
He made the statement recently at his residence in Buchanan City when he granted a special interview with journalists.
Karnga is expected to launch a book on Liberia’s history on the title: “Witness To A Nation.”
He called on Liberians to follow “Standard, not Policy.”
Karnga said, as a nonagenarian, he believes that standard is easier in governance than policy.
He said, although policy works within democracy, following standard improves governance.
“Do not fight standard, but policy, which is not governance.”
Karnga praised President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s wisdom in steering the nation, and on that basis, he expressed joy in the selection of Grand Bassa to host the 179th Independence celebration.
He said, the Bassa tribe is sine-qua-non to the overall unity, cultural diversity, and the development agenda, which Boakai endorsed.
He meanwhile, rallied Bassonians to unite for the prosperity of the county, and to use the July 26 celebration to seek greater development for its people.
He frowned at those who often use invectives to express political differences.
