In Lofa, Falling Palm Tree Crushed Boy, 11

A devastating storm has claimed the life of an 11-year-old boy in Lofa County after a falling palm tree struck him during heavy rainfall, and strong winds.
The incident occurred in Lawalazu Town, leaving residents, and family members in deep mourning.
The victim, identified as Anthony Argbah, was reportedly accompanying his aunt to a farm to harvest groundnuts when a powerful storm swept through the area, according to local authorities.
Lawalazu Town Chief explained how the sudden weather condition brought heavy rain, and strong winds, causing a palm tree to fall while the boy, and his aunt were on the farm.
The falling, the chief said, tree struck Anthony, leaving him with serious injuries.
Community members immediately rushed to the scene, and transported the child for medical attention in an effort to save his life.
However, medical personnel later confirmed the death of Anthony, “because he suffered severe trauma from the impact of the falling tree.”
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves throughout Lawalazu Town, with residents expressing sadness over the sudden loss of a young life.
Family members, friends and community leaders described Anthony as a respectful, hardworking and helpful child, who was loved by those around him.
