4 Wanted In Rape Probe

Medical findings from the CB Dunbar Hospital have confirmed that a 16-year-old girl from Wainsue, Electoral District #3, Bong County, was sexually assaulted.

By that, police officers have continued efforts to locate four young men accused in connection with the incident.

The assault reportedly occurred on Thursday, July 9, 2026, when the four suspects, believed to be between the ages of 20 and 27, were accused of gang rape in Wainsue.

According to reports, the suspects have since fled the community, while law enforcement authorities intensify efforts to bring them before the court to answer to the allegations.

The medical examination conducted at CB Dunbar Hospital, according to sources familiar with the case, provided findings consistent with sexual assault.

The results have reportedly strengthened calls from the victim’s family and community members for swift justice.

Following the incident, tensions have reportedly increased in the area, with family members of the victim accusing relatives of shielding the accused from police investigation.

The victim’s family members claim that some relatives of the accused are aware of their whereabouts, but have refused to cooperate with authorities.

However, such claims have not been independently verified.

Community members in Wainsue have expressed concerns over the seriousness of the allegations, and have meanwhile, called on the police and relevant authorities to ensure that the matter is thoroughly investigated and handled through the justice system.

The case has renewed discussions among residents about the need for stronger protection mechanisms for children, and increased community cooperation in reporting and addressing cases of sexual violence.

As of press time, police had not publicly announced the arrest of any of any of the suspects, while the investigation remains ongoing.

The identities of the suspects have not yet been disclosed pending further investigation and possible legal action.

The survivor is receiving support as the investigation continues.
