Dr. Kaizer Challenges Graduates
The Chief Executive Officer of Jackson F. Doe Hospital in Nimba County, Dr. Victor Z. Kaizer, has challenged graduating students of Konbah Leadership Academy (KLA) to remain committed to excellence despite the numerous challenges confronting the education sector.
Dr. Kaizer made the statement when he served as a keynote speaker during the academy’s closing and graduation ceremony on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
He urged students to embrace discipline, hard work, consistency and continuous learning as the foundation for success.
On the theme: “Striving for Excellence in the Midst of Challenges,” Dr. Kaizer described education as a powerful tool for transforming lives and building a stronger nation.
“Whenever opportunities such as this are given to me to speak, I consider it a great pleasure and feel privileged to enlighten the minds of our future generation.”
Kaizer encouraged graduates to remain focused on achieving their personal best regardless of the obstacles they may encounter, adding that excellence is a “journey rather than a destination.”
He advised students to cultivate effective study habits, complete assignments on time, seek academic support from teachers when necessary and view challenges as opportunities for growth.
Dr. Kaizer also urged the students to participate in extracurricular activities, such as quizzing competitions, spelling bees, and debate programs to sharpen their academic abilities, leadership skills and self-confidence.
He expressed concern over the steady decline in Liberia’s educational standards, warning that the country’s future depends on reversing the trend.
“In the past, a ninth-grade student could compare favorably to a high school student in terms of knowledge and articulation, but today, many college-graduates struggle to match the standard of high school graduates from two decades ago.”
According to him, restoring quality education will require the collective commitment of government, educators, parents, communities, and students.
Dr. Kaizer also underscored the importance of discipline, integrity and moral values among young people, cautioning that the erosion of ethical standards poses a serious threat to national development.
“Our parents taught us order, discipline and self-reliance. These values remain the best way to preserve a civilized society that we can all be proud of.”
Kaizer further called on schools to provide safe, clean and supportive learning environments while encouraging teachers to adopt improved instructional methods and effective student assessment practices.
As an education advocate, Dr. Kaizer emphasized the need for parents to become more actively involved in their children’s academic development, void of paying tuition alone.
“Routine follow-up on a child’s academic progress at home, and in school is essential if we are to change the dynamics and achieve excellence.”
The proprietor of Konbah Leadership Academy, Reverend Arthur N. Gbotoe, praised the school’s founder for establishing the academy to provide quality education while nurturing the unique talents and abilities of every child.
Rev. Gbotoe said, the academy promotes a student-centered learning environment where teachers serve as facilitators, students engage in hands-on learning, curiosity is encouraged, technology is integrated into classroom instruction, and every learner is given an equal opportunity to succeed.
The graduation ceremony attracted students, parents, education stakeholders, government officials, and community members, who celebrated the achievements of the graduating class.
Konbah Leadership Academy is a community-focused educational institution operating in Dixville, Monrovia, dedicated to educate young people, promoting inclusive learning and empowering surrounding communities through quality education.
