Monrovia City Court Magistrate Ben Barco has forwarded to jail,  39- years- old man identified as Amos B. Johnson, for allegedly killing his father. On December 25, 2024, information received from Paynesville, Bassa Town Community revealed that suspect Johnson was accused by his sisters of murdering his biological father (victim Eli B. Johnson) for not given him(Amos B. Johnson) Christmas money. The investigation further revealed that suspect Johnson has always been in the constant practice of harassing and threatening his father to eliminate him all of the times if he fails.  According to police charge sheets, between December 24 to 25, 2024 suspect Johnson and his late father were at the house when the incident occurred. Investigation unearthed that suspect Johnson was observed with blood and scratches on the hands and right face as if he was involved into a fight with someone. Also, having suspect Johnson been question about the blood that was seen on him, he told one Ogrady M. Dagher that he made a motor bike accident. The Police Investigation further noted that after suspect Johnson was also questioned by Vasco Hengbetus about the whereabouts of his father, he got annoyed and threatened to stone Hengbetus and took off with a terrific speed and went at the Redlight Police Station for rescue where he was arrested. Accordingly, the arresting officer, CIP, Jerry K. M. Wymah, stated that suspect Johnson, intentionally without any remorse took rock and hit his father (victim Eli B. Johnson) on the head for not giving him (Amos B. Johnson) Christmas money, which rendered him unconscious and was later pronounced dead by medical doctor. Coupled with statements obtained from various persons of interest, the investigation has resolved to charge suspect Johnson with the crime of murder according to chapter 14, section 14.1. However, suspect Johnson is currently at the Monrovia Central Prison pending court prosecution.
