Montserrado County Districts 3 and 5 Representatives, Sumo Mulbah and Priscilla Cooper, Margibi County Electoral District 3 Representative Ellen Attoh-Wreh along with Sinoe County District 1 Representative Romeo Quioh, have defected from former Speaker Fonati Koffa and joined the activities of the House of Representatives under the leadership of Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon.  The three lawmakers—Mulbah, Cooper, Attoh-Wreh and Quioh—who had remained loyal to the ousted Speaker during the recent impasse, have now decided to align themselves with Speaker Koon’s leadership. This decision was made in consideration of prioritizing the work of the Liberian people at the House of Representatives.  A statement issued by the House Press Bureau indicated that Speaker Koon and his colleagues have warmly welcomed the three lawmakers.  It can be recalled that Speaker Koon, while lighting the Christmas tree on Capitol Hill, extended an olive branch to lawmakers who were still in opposition to his leadership.

This gesture appears to be yielding results, as evidenced by the latest realignment of the three lawmakers from Montserrado and Sinoe Counties.  A renewed call has been made for other lawmakers to follow suit and join hands in fostering unity and progress within the House of Representatives.
