The Chair of Liberiaโs Womenโs Legislative Caucus,ย Margibi County District 3ย Representative, Ellen A.AttohWreh, has officially received a high-level delegation from the South African Faith & Family Institute (SAFFI), led by its Executive Director, Dr. Elizabeth Hoorn Petersen.
The visit, which held under the theme โTransforming Hearts, Minds, and Relationships on Human Dignity,โ marked a significant moment of solidarity and shared commitment to advancing the rights and dignity of women and girls across Africa.
During the courtesy call, Tuesday Dr. Petersen commended Rep. Attoh for her “strong leadership and practical steps in addressing the concerns and challenges facing women in Liberia.”
She further emphasized the importance of regional partnerships in tackling gender-based violence, promoting womenโs empowerment, and embedding values of human dignity into policymaking and community engagement.
The discussions between the two leaders focused on areas of mutual interest, including legislative advocacy, community education, survivor-centered interventions, and faith-based approaches to healing and transformation.
Rep. Attoh expressed appreciation for the visit and highlighted the Caucus’s ongoing efforts to strengthen laws protecting women and children, promote inclusive governance, and collaborate with international organizations to exchange best practices.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to explore future collaboration between the South African Faith & Family Institute and the Womenโs Legislative Caucus of Liberia, with the shared goal of promoting dignity, equity, and justice for all.
