River Gee District #3 Residents Celebrate Road Rehabilitations

Residents of District #3, River Gee County, have celebrated the official groundbreaking ceremony to rehabilitate key feeder roads across the district.
The projects will consider some of the largest, and most inaccessible roads, thus, marking the first such initiative since the end of the Liberian civil war (2003).
The project, sponsored by the district’s Representative, Johnson S. N. Williams, is expected to officially commence following the groundbreaking on Wednesday, October 22.
Williams led a delegation of local officials, youth, women and elders to Knowloken, Webbo City for the ceremony.
Rep. Williams reaffirmed his commitment to serve the people of District #3 with all sectors of development.
He spoke mainly of the road project covering a total of 110 kilometers at an estimated cost of US$180,000.
The rehabilitation work will cover nine major road corridors, including the Tuobo Gbaweleken to Deabo Youworken (9.92 km); Deabo Youworken to Klibo Yoploken Waterside (6.92 km); Deabo Youworken to Saykliken Border (9.97 km); Webbo Wlegboken to Gyetu Yeplaken Border (14.35 km); Webbo Yeborken to Nyenebo Karbuken (8 km); Nyenebo Karbuken to Barrobo Gwessiken (11.6 km); Sarbo Geeken to Production Camp (18 km); Production Camp to Glarro Youbor Waterside (27 km) and from Production Camp to Glarro Freetown (3.42 km).
Rep. Williams extended appreciation to President Joseph N. Boakai for prioritizing road connectivity, and for providing equipment from the Ministry of Public Works to support the project.
Head of Equipment Mobilization at the Ministry of Public Works, Joseph Dickson, commended Rep. Williams for complementing government’s development agenda.
Citizens have since praised Rep. Williams for the initiative, describing it as a long-awaited intervention to ease transportation difficulties, especially for pregnant women and farmers transporting goods.
