The Sixth Judicial Circuit Civil Law Court, under the jurisdiction of Resident Judge Kennedy Peabody, has summoned former Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Deputy Director for Operations, Hassan Fadiga and his brother, Hussein Fadiga, over allegations of libel with general damages amounting to $3 million. Accordingly, the summon followed a complaint filed by former LDEA Director General Abraham Kromah. Kromah is requesting the court to adjudge the Fadigas with special damages totaling $2 million. In a ten-count petition, Kromah claimed that the defendants libeled him for $2 million, and accused Hassan of being incompetent and delinquent in handling dangerous drugs and other contraband within Liberian society. Kromah also alleged that Hassan created a parallel structure disregarding Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that governs all paramilitary agencies, showing a lack of knowledge on how subordinate officers should report to their superiors with due courtesy. Regarding Hussein Fadiga, Kromah contended that as Hassan’s twin brother, who claims to be a social commentator and political analyst, Hussein joined his brother’s misinformation campaign. Kromah alleged that Hussein falsely accused him on several radio talk shows, including but not limited to Spoon Talk-show, of having a close relationship with a notorious Nigerian drug baron named β€œJapan.” Kromah asserted that the arrest, detention, and subsequent prosecution of Japan were planned, organized, directed, and spearheaded by him before Fadiga’s appointment as LDEA Deputy Director-General. Kromah pledged to present evidence showing that at the time of Japan’s arrest, Hassan Fadiga was not an LDEA official. The former LDEA head has sought the court to grant him $2 million in damages, representing contract losses sustained due to the defendants’ actions. Β By: Melvin Jackson/Spoontv
