As the saying go, he who gives water gives life. This maxim was initiated in the Bong County District #4, following the intervention of Representative Robert Womba.
Womba saw the dire need of the residents for safe drinking water, and so, he installed a Kiosque containing water towel.
Upon this back drop the Paramount Chief of Panta Administrative District, Justine Gbaimah, heaped praises on Rep. Womba for initiating the water project.
The project will provide safe and accessible drinking water for residents.
At the commissioning ceremony of the project, Chief Gbaimah described the initiative as the first of its kind in the area.
He noted that for many years, residents have struggled to access clean and safe drinking water.
Gbaimah described the project as “a life-changing intervention.”
He further assured that the benefiting communities will put in place measures to maintain and protect the facility.
“The community will take ownership of the project by protecting, and maintain the water system for generations to come.”
Earlier, Rep. Womba office staff, James Jenteh, said the water initiative reflected the lawmaker’s commitment to improve the well-being of his constituents through practical and people-centered developments.
Jenteh said, the water project is part of a broader plan to provide safe and accessible drinking water across the district.
The projects are currently being implemented in Gbalatuah, Niama, Belefenai and Gbonota.
Jenseh boasted that those projects are Rep. Womba own way of responding to the long-standing water challenges faced by residents.
The initiative will benefit residents particularly from Belleh-Mu and Forequelleh, who also welcomed the project, describing it as a major relief that will improve public health and reduce the burden of traveling long distances to fetch water.
