VP Koung!!

Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, has convened a high-level meeting with major manufacturers and leading Liberian distributors.

Koung’s meeting signaled a decisive shift from dialogue to the strict enforcement of the Liberianization policy and the National Investment Act.

He warned that government is prepared to enforce the law “to the letter,” highlighting that its current cooperative stance should not be mistaken for weakness.

“The market is getting very bad, and the President is serious about this. We will go all out.”

Koung issued a stark warning to noncompliant businesses, adding: “If you break the law, we will come after you.

He highlighted the ongoing violations, particularly the circumvention of Liberian-only distribution rules, have continued to marginalize Liberians from meaningful participation in the economy.

The meeting was guided by the agenda of the Presidential Committee on Price and Economic Contradiction, which focuses on the formal opening, adoption of the agenda, engagement with manufacturers and distributors to accelerate Liberian distributorship, and establishing a national distribution.
