Vanjah Residents ‘Pressurize’ Fahnbulleh

By Samuel Flomo, Jr.

Bong County Electoral District #7 Representative, Foday E. Fahnbulleh, has concluded a citizens’ engagement visit to Vanjah Town, located behind the St. Paul River.

Fahnbulleh’s visit was part of his ongoing district-wide outreach program to strengthen communication with constituents.

The visit, which brought together residents, local leaders, and community stakeholders, was intended to provide updates on the lawmaker’s activities while also allowing the locals to raise concerns about development challenges affecting District #7.

During the engagement, Rep. Fahnbulleh thanked residents for their participation and described the interaction as an important step toward participatory governance and improved representation at the national level.

However, the meeting was dominated by concerns from residents, who expressed frustration over the slow pace of development in the district.

Some of them said, despite repeated engagements with their lawmaker, many of their basic needs remain unmet. Community members raised concerns over poor road conditions, limited access to essential services, and the lack of visible development projects in several parts of District #7.

Some participants said the situation has created growing disappointment among the locals, who expected more tangible results after elections.

According to them, while consultations and town hall meetings are important, they should be matched with concrete development actions that directly improve the living conditions of the people. Some residents argued that the district continues to lag behind in critical areas such as infrastructure development, youth opportunities, and community services, urging stronger intervention from their elected representative.

Rep. Fahnbulleh’s team described the engagement as productive, noting that it helped deepen dialogue between the representative, and his constituents and provided clearer insight into community concerns.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to continued consultations across District #7.

Despite this assurance, residents of Vanjah Town have called for faster and more visible development interventions, insisting that future engagements must lead to real improvements rather than repeated discussions alone.
