The Office of former Speaker J. Fonati Koffa, has underscored the need for a united national effort to prepare young Liberians for leadership.
He office stressed the need to develop the country’s future generation.
But said, such development would depend on the quality of education and mentorship the leadership provided today.
Koffa’s Chief of Office Staff, Chris N. Joboe, delivered the message on behalf of Koffa, who was selected as the keynote speaker at the Child Care School of Excellence in Duport Road, outside Monrovia, Montserrado County.
Joboe spoke on the theme: “Nurturing Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.”
He said, leadership development is a shared responsibility, which involved government, educators, parents, school administrators and communities.
Joboe explained how effective nurturing begins with sound planning, modern teaching methods, continuous guidance, and regular evaluation to ensure that students acquire the knowledge, practical skills, and moral values needed to lead.
Joboe emphasized the need for students to have a vital role to play by embracing discipline, respect, and a willingness to learn.
He described these qualities as the foundation of responsible leadership.
He said, Liberia’s long-term development will depend on producing educated and innovative young people capable of addressing national challenges and contributing to sustainable growth.
Joboe meanwhile, called on educational stakeholders to work collaboratively to build a generation of ethical, competent, and visionary leaders, who will drive the future prosperity.
