About sixty-one students from Grand Kru County attending the Tubman University (TU), have benefited from a significant financial aid package.

Senator Albert Tugbe Chief provided the financial assistance to the 61 students.

On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, Chie who came to the rescue of the students paid the first semester tuition fees with the amount of US$12,000.

The gesture aligns with Sen. Chie’s commitment to support the educational aspirations of students from the county, especially during a period when many are struggling to meet the costs associated with their studies.

The payment was done on behalf of Chie by Joe Sekpeh, the county Development Officer.

The beneficiaries expressed words of gratitude to Sen. Chie.

Chie’s goal is to motivate students and lessen the financial hardships that many students face when it comes to paying their fees at TU.

Sekpeh said Sen. Chie’s initiative reflects his broader vision for youth empowerment.

In a collective statement, the students pledged to make the most of this opportunity, noting their determination to excel in their studies and contribute positively to the development of the county.

They encouraged their peers throughout the county to seize opportunities for higher education. They also spoke of the importance of fostering individual growth to contribute to the socio-economic development.
