River Gee Supt. Leads “Say No To Drugs” Campaign

The fight against drug abuse gained a significant boost as River Gee County officially launched the “Say No To Drugs” Campaign in Fish Town.

The campaign, spearheaded by the county Superintendent, Mike T. Swengbe, brought together representatives from youth organizations, joint security forces, women groups, and civil society actors.

The initiative is part of a nationwide effort to combat the increasing use, and trafficking of harmful substances among the young people.

At the ceremony, Supt. Swengbe lauded residents for turnout in their numbers, and expressing their willingness to support both his administration, and the broader anti-drug effort.

He described the campaign as a “lifesaving initiative aimed at safeguarding country’s future.

“This campaign is about protecting our children, our families, and our communities,” Supt. Swengbe declared.

 “Drug abuse is destroying the potential of our young people. That is why parents, teachers, community leaders, and every well-meaning citizen must rise up and play an active role in educating our children about the dangers of narcotics.”

Swengbe said, fighting drugs requires more than just government intervention, but education, awareness, and community involvement.

He called on citizens to embrace the campaign and stand together in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.

The initiative has already gained widespread support among residents of the county.

Residents who attended the launch, expressed their commitment to working with authorities to ensure the campaign is successful.

They spoke of the need for a united front in protecting the county youthful population from the dangers of substance abuse.

The next phase of the campaign is expected to workshops, seminars, and community outreach programs to educate residents on the harmful effects of narcotics.

It will also provide support resources for individuals battling addiction.
