Questions continue to mount in Bong County District #1 over the whereabouts, and the actual use of a bulldozer.
A former representative candidate, Dennis Garsinii, reportedly acquired the equipment.
At present, questions are being asked amid growing public concern about transparency and accountability surrounding the bulldozer.
Residents are yet to get the clear understanding about the current status of the equipment.
The equipment was publicly announced in June, 2025, as part of an initiative to improve agriculture and road connectivity in rural communities.
At the time of the announcement, Garsinii reportedly described the acquisition of the fairly used bulldozer as a “game changer” for farmers and residents.
He added: “It was to be used to clear farmlands, open feeder roads, and support agricultural development in District #1.”
The announcement was initially welcomed by community members, many of whom have long faced challenges, including poor road conditions, limited access to farming tools, and difficulties transporting farm produce to nearby markets.
However, nearly a year after the public declaration, several of the locals now say, they have not seen consistent evidence of the bulldozer operating in their communities.
This has fueled speculation and raised concerns about whether the equipment is being used for the purposes originally communicated to the public.
Some of the residents further noted that feeder roads in parts of Kokoyah Electoral District #1 remain in poor condition, despite expectations that the project would address long-standing infrastructure challenges.
Amid the growing public concern, Mr. Garsinii confirmed how he purchased the bulldozer and other equipment, but clarified that they were not intended for district-wide public use.
He said the machinery was acquired for his personal farming activities.
He further spoke of the importance of road construction and rehabilitation, Garsinii said, lies with the government, not private individuals or political actors.
Despite this clarification, public debate continues, with residents calling for greater transparency regarding the initial public messaging and the intended scope of the project.
As of press time last night, the current location and operational status of the bulldozer have not been independently established.
