Orange Foundation Launches “Wologizi” Computer Lab

One of Liberia’s giant in quality telecommunication and internet service provider, Orange Company, through its Orange Foundation, has launched a modernized digital computer laboratory.

The launch, is an effort to bolster computer literacy at the City of Hope Academy.

The Company has been tremendously supportive in the country national drive and non- governmental initiatives as a way of illustrating to the nation, and its people that it is not here only to maximize dividend, but to buttress government effort as well. 

The computer lab, which is dubbed: “ Wologizi Computer laborator,” was launched on Friday, October, 2025.

The City of Hope is an orphanage that runs an academy school that is currently catering to children between the ages 3-5 and 6 years. 

During the ceremony, Supu Cole, a lawyer by profession, who proxied for Jean Marius Yao, Orange CEO, said the entity was gladdened to have established a digital computer laboratory  that will harness and serve as a threshold to a brighter Liberia.

Colevsaid, the transformative power through digital technology will play a key role in innovation and create new opportunities for women empowerment and inclusion.

Cllr. Cole said the digital computer knowledge will not just promote women inclusion, but will also promote renewable energy solutions and healthcare system.

He said with the concretized partnership of Orange Foundation and Clar weah Foundation working together, can drive the nation to economic growth and prosperity.

He said one way to actualize such dream is through the utilization of the installed modernized digital computer lab, which will bring the world closer and open doors to their future and a better country.

Cole said, Orange is not just interested in maximizing profit, but proportionally giving back to the country through supporting national initiatives, goal and aspiration of the Liberian people under the auspices of its Foundation.

He said the Orange Foundation was looking forward to forging a stronger partnership, and reminded the Clar Foundation that the presentation of the laboratory was not the end to their collaboration, but looks ahead to do more in the future.

 Clar Weah, on behalf of the Foundation, extended her profound gratitude to the Orange Foundation for their far sightedness to establish a digital lab at the City of Hope.

She said the   transformative digital technology initiative is impactful and plays a pivotal road in serving as an investment for women who have to acquire such knowledge.

Madam Weah said, such initiative does not just create opportunities to be explored but serves as a pathway to a brighter future.

She said though the foundation had face some financial constraint to execute some of its program, the advent of the digital computer center at the institution will create opportunity for others in the Marshall, Margibi County.

She said the opportunity will be given to those who are 18 and over 18 to take advantage of the computer literacy program free of charge at the institution.

Madam Weah then assured the Orange Foundation that her foundation will ensure that said gestured will be utilized for purpose intended.

A board member of the Orange Foundation, Josephine Arkinkere, expressed delight and told the Clar Weah Foundation that their doors are always open to forge a genuine partnership with the foundation.

She informed that the Orange foundation has been greatly instrumental in driving many national initiatives such as health care, education, renewable energy, sports amongst others and the Clar Weah Foundation is no exception to such glowing initiatives.

Madam Josephine Arkinkere who heads corporate and sale disclosed that the foundation is currently operating 26 computer schools within 9 counties in the country, adding:” and there are plans to dilate its computer program throughout the country.” 

She then thanked the Weah Foundation for the City of Hope Academy which described as “noteworthy” and said she is proud to see such structure erected for the children of country.

The program was grace by Former President George M. Weah, Former Foreign Minister D. Maxwell Kemeyah and Margibi Senator, Nathaniel Mcgill amongst others.
