Garmai Roberts, the newly inducted president of the House of Representatives Chiefs of Office Staff (COS) Network, has described her election as a defining moment in the history of the network.
Madam Roberts pledged inclusive leadership, renewed advocacy for staff welfare, and strengthened professional collaboration.
During her acceptance address, said the occasion marked a milestone in the collective journey of the COS Network.
She expressed deep appreciation for the confidence reposed in her by other members to serve as their president.
Madam Robert also paid tribute to the foundational leadership that established the Network as a symbol of unity and resilience in the House of Representatives.
On the history of the COS Network, Madam Robert recalled how it was founded early 2024, to provide Chiefs of Office Staff and legislative staffers with a unified voice, professional identity and organized platform to advance their collective welfare.
She previously served as secretary general under the acting leadership, gaining firsthand experience of the challenges and aspirations of staffers.
Madam Roberts promised to promote unity and harmony among COS and legislative staff; provides a platform for interaction and dialogue; advocates for improved salaries and benefits.
She also spoke of ensuring a conducive working environment, and fostering solidarity among members.
She expressed profound appreciation to Jeremiah Paye, who served as acting president of the COS Network for providing stability and direction during a critical transition period.
Madam Roberts unveiled the vision of the new leadership, underscoring dignity, professionalism, and empowerment for staffers. Those elected to work with her are St. Marcus Solroe, Co-Chair for Administration, Levi Page, Co-Chair for Operations, Wuotema Abraham Suah, Secretary General, David Kpanie, Deputy Secretary General, Nathaniel Sawyer, Financial Secretary, Annie Monica Kollie, Treasurer and Lawrence Youwoh Yesso, Parliamentarian.
