M/Gen. Forleh Lays Wreath In Memory Of Mark D. Bracewell-LNP

The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia, Major General Davidson Fayiah Forleh, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, laid wreath in memory of the late Liberia National Police (LNP) Officer Mark D. Bracewell.

Officer Mark D. Bracewell died in a tragic motor accident on Saturday, September 27, 2025, while discharging official national duty right after the Gabriel Tucker’s Bridge near Via Town LNP checkpoint in Monrovia.

The Minister of Justice, Oswald N. Tweh, and police Inspector General Gregory O.W. Coleman, along with M/Gen. Forleh attended a brief ceremony in memory of Officer Mark D. Bracewell at the Via Town LNP Checkpoint.

During the brief memorial ceremony, Forleh expressed heartfelt regrets over the tragic, and the death of the officer, and extended sympathy to the deceased family and the LNP.

According to a release, Forleh condemned the action of the driver as “outrageous, and unacceptable,” while urging the LNP to remain unwavering in the discharge of their duties.

IG Coleman, said adequate and appropriate logistics, including necessary benefits are vital to police operations.

“In order for us to put our lives on the line to serve, we have to be served as well,” said Coleman.

He used the memorial ceremony to draw government attention to the lack of a posthumous pension scheme for LNP personnel, and respectfully requested government consideration.

Osward Tweh, described the tragic and the death of Officer Bracewell as heart-breaking, and called for a moment of silence to memorialize the late officer.

He assured the Police IG that government will take the necessary action to avoid a reoccurrence of such tragic incident.
