The leadership of the Liberia National Police (LNP) has taken disciplinary action against Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Samuel S. D. Nepay II, (ID#5704), and Patrolman Sweetlee M. R. Flomo.
These actions, according to an LNP release, followed an investigation by the Professional Standards Department (PSD) into the falsification of police clearance documents.
CIP Samuel S. D. Nepay II, is suspended for two months without pay for ‘falsifying police clearance documents.’
He has also been transferred from both the Office of the Inspector General of Police and the Records and Identification Section.
This action, the release said, is in accordance with the LNP Administrative Instructions on Discipline and Professional Standards, Part II, Section 5.1 and Section 6, Count 6.1.11 on “Falsification,” the Disciplinary Regulations of 2016, Section 7.1 Count (p) and Section 8.1 Count (k), as well as the LNP Act of 2015, Section 22.90 (b), Count XV.
As for Patrolman Sweetlee M. R. Flomo, assigned with the Crimes Services Department (CSD)
She is suspended for one month without pay for unethical involvement in processing police clearance documents without proper verification.
This disciplinary action, is accordingly, similarly guided by the aforementioned regulatory provisions.
Meanwhile, the LNP wishes to assure the public that the issuance of police clearance certificates is the sole responsibility of the Records and Identification Section. We remain steadfast in ensuring transparency, accountability and the delivery of quality services to all Liberians.
