The Liberia Drugs Free Alliance (LDFA), a non-for-profit organization, has disclosed plans to launch a nationwide vigorous campaign against harmful substances and illegal drugs.
The exercise is expected to run from September 15 to October 15, 2025.
LDFA, is a civil society coalition committed to promoting a drug-free Liberia through education, advocacy, community mobilization and partnership building.
The organization is also working with schools, youth groups, government institutions and businesses to create lasting solution to the drug crisis in the country.
In a release issued on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Monrovia, LDFA said its month-long campaign will bring together communities, businesses, government officials and civil society organizations in a united fight against the rising threat of harmful drug abuse in the country.
The release said the awareness activities will include school and community outreach, public rallies and media advocacy, thus amplifying the call for a drug-free, healthy and prosperous Liberia.
LDFA said the success of the campaign depends on the collective efforts of its partners and sponsors, as such, they have reached out to several high-profile government officials, and key institutions in the business community whose contributions will make a lasting difference in the national fight against illegal drugs.
“We strongly encourage these respected businesses and leaders of our country to stand with us through their financial and moral support in this vital national initiative,” the release said.
LDFA said the fight against harmful drugs is not for the institution alone, but a national responsibility, adding that with the support of its partners and in public in general, they can empower young people with knowledge and alternatives.
“Through this initiative, we can support families and communities affected by drug abuse by creating safe spaces and program that build hope for a better Liberia.”
“Drug abuse is destroying the potential of our youth, weakening our communities, and threatening our nation’s future. Together with our partners, we are determined to fight this menace and build a Liberia where every young person can thrive free from harmful substances.”
