The chair of Gbowee Community in Sasstown-Louisiana Township in Montserrado County, has made a clarion call to the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) and the joint security to beef up surveillance on suspected drugs dealers and users.
Chairman Jefferson Hoggard said, crimes have increased mostly amongst the youths, and other acts of violence juvenile misbehaviors.
“It has been observed that drugs addicts are responsible for most of the crimes in the communities.”
Hoggard said, the community leaderships have received tape-off by anonymous sources that drugs dealing has increased in the Sasstown’s Community, mainly around vicinity of the market.
He acknowledged that agents of LDEA sometimes chased after suspects for loitering along the train track.
Hoggard also requests for more security patrol to discourage the movement of young people, who frequently moved in and out of the areas instilling fear in residents.
The suspected drug addicts, Hoggard said, often involved with snatching phones, stealing crops and other belongings of the locals, just to satisfy their bad habits for drugs.”
Hoggard attributed the increment in substance abuse to the marauding youths that have made the community prone to negative comments.
The suspected youth misdeeds to terrorize residents require prompt actions from both community leaderships and the joint security.
