Agents of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), West Point Detachment, on Monday, September 8, swung into action as they arrested a Nigerian national, Ilo Arinza.
Arinza was arrested in a significant drug bust held in Central Monrovia.
At approximately 2 p.m., LDEA said it officers executed a search and seizure warrant at the business premises known as Easy Way, located on Johnson Street.
“The operation led to the arrest of 21-year-old businessman, Ilo Arinza with several illegal substances, including boxes of Tramadol.”
LDEA: “During the search, which was led by a Sheriff of the court, officers discovered 150 boxes of Tramadol, and one plastic bag of Kush, with an estimated street value of L$184,000 (approximately US$1,420).”
The operation, the Agency said, was part of a wider crackdown led by its interim leadership under Fitzgerald T.M. Biago.
Mr. Biago, has reiterated a zero-tolerance approach to illegal drug activities across the country.
The LDEA has committed to dismantling the entire drug supply chain: “leaving no ghettos untouched.”
