Kwageh Farmers Build Agri Powerhouse

A new dawn is breaking over Bong County as the Kwageh Agriculture Cooperative in Sanoyea Town, Bong County has emerged as a shining example of agricultural potential under President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s ARREST Agenda.

Founded in November 2020, and led by Paul Togbah, a visionary farmer, the cooperative has mobilized over 100 members to cultivate lowland rice, and a variety of vegetables.

Some of the vegetables are watermelon, cucumber, bitter balls, tomatoes, maize and onions.

The farmers are proving that with dedication and strategic support, the country fertile lands can become a powerhouse for food security.

Mr. Togbah hailed Pres. Boakai’s commitment to agriculture, adding: “The ARREST Agenda, covers Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation and Tourism, has brought renewed hope to rural communities.

With government backing, the cooperative promises to expand production, reduce dependence on imported rice, and create sustainable jobs in the county.

The farmers are already preparing additional farmlands, demonstrating remarkable initiative and readiness to implement modern agricultural practices.

For that, Mr. Togbah highlighted that tractors, tools, and technical support from the government will accelerate growth, turning the fertile soil into a source of wealth, nutrition, and national pride.

Some of the farmers said the Cooperative success signals a bright future for the nation, showing how community initiative, when paired with visionary leadership, can transform challenges into opportunities.

With such ongoing back-to-the soil initiative, the country is fast becoming a model for agricultural excellence, inspiring farmers to embrace innovation, productivity, and self-reliance.
