Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, has called on investors to construct factories in the country to address the nation’s unemployment challenges.
VP Koung recommendation was contained in his statement while cutting the ribbon at ceremony marking the country’s Food Processing Factory in Gardnersville, outside Monrovia, on Friday, July 4, 2025.
He underscored the importance of expanding industrial infrastructure to promote the country’s economic growth.
Koung meanwhile, urged investors and prominent local business owners to establish additional manufacturing facilities, supporting the country’s development goals.
Build more factories and employ many Liberians. As leaders and citizens, we will be proud of such progress,” Vice President Koung told the gathering.
He also spoke of the proliferation of manufacturing plants, which he said, would enable local entrepreneurs to strengthen their businesses.
Koung also commended owners of the Food Processing Factory for their “significant contributions to the country’s economy.” He expressed optimism about the future of industrial development.
Representatives of the Food Processing Factory, reiterated their commitment to producing approximately 1,000 metric tons of finished products per month; primarily targeting the domestic market.
Their product lineup, includes toothpaste, magic cubes and salt.
