Jloh District Crave Development

By Emmanuel Koffa

Local authorities and residents of Jloh Statutory District in Grand Kru County, have called for urgent government intervention to address longstanding challenges affecting transportation, access to clean water, and public safety.

The appeal was made during a recent community engagement meeting.

The District Acting Superintendent, Aaron T. Togbah, led the meeting.
Togbah highlighted the difficulties residents face due to inadequate infrastructure and limited public services.

He recalled the poor road conditions, which he said, continue to hinder economic activities, making it difficult for farmers and traders to move goods between communities and markets.

Togbah noted that several towns remain difficult to access, particularly during the rainy season.

“Development is a shared responsibility, and our people deserve the basic services needed to improve their quality of life. We are appealing to the government and partners to prioritize Jloh’s development needs.

The water situation also remains a major concern. Many communities reportedly depend on creeks and traditional wells for drinking water, prompting calls for the construction of additional hand pumps and modern water facilities.

Residents who attended the meeting stressed the need to access safe drinking water to improve public health and reduce preventable diseases.

Security concerns were also raised, with community members calling on authorities to strengthen law enforcement across the district.

Residents believe additional security personnel and facilities would improve safety and confidence among the locals.

Despite the challenges, community leaders expressed optimism that meaningful progress can be achieved through collaboration between local authorities, national government institutions, lawmakers, and development partners.
