The Chairman Emeritus of the Elders Fitness Association (EFA), Solomon Sackie Gotoko, has formally handed power over to the chairman Lawrence Seitua.
Seitua was inducted into office along with some officials of the EFA few weeks ago.
Mr. Gotoko, according to a release, expressed confidence in the new leadership of EFA headed by Lawrence. Seitua meanwhile, called on EFA members and supporters to embrace peace, reconciliation and unity to ensure that they achieve EFA’s dreams and vision.
In his handover notes, Mr. Gotoko recalled how he took the EFA with just 10 members, but leaving the chairmanship with 70 members.
On EFA financial standing, he said, the total cash on hand is L$6,405, and US$905.50.
Gotoko said, the total amount generated from their just inaugural program is $1,421.50. He added that cash currently deposited is $178,982.11, inclusive of interest income.
He further said, they were leaving with a receivable to collect from their members, and non-members, the amount of L$398,000 and US$2,150 in membership arrears including tickets and pledges.
Mr. Gotoko: “We are also leaving with a liability of L$6,000, which constitutes contribution to Kona Nyenpan and Wennie Swen recovery.
Gotoko spoke of how during his leadership, EFA purchased a land to construct EFA’s gymnasium in the township of Gardnerville.
Meanwhile, Mr. Seitua has Gotoko for his leadership.
Seitua described his ascendency as both a “great honor and a sacred mandate.”
He pledged to lead the organization with integrity, diligence and a clear vision.
