FDA Receives 2 Vehicles

Officials at the Forestry Development Authority (FDA) on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, received two Toyota Land Cruiser Jeeps from its partners, as support to the Awareness and Ecotourism Division, and East Nimba reserved forest.

The separate presentations, according to a release, were done at the Authority head office in Whien Town, Paynesville, outside Monrovia.

The Awareness and Ecotourism Division received one of the vehicles, while the East Nimba Forest received one for the use of their respective areas.

The FDA Awareness and Ecotourism Division vehicle, according to a release, was donated by the Wild Chimpanzee Foundation, while the East Nimba Forest vehicle was also given by the UNOPS AFR WAMCO Guinea.

The Wild Chimpanzee Foundation Country Director, Dr. Annika Hillers, presented the vehicle to the FDA management, while FDA Chief Park Warden for East Nimba Forest, Madam Catherine Kuku Dolo, received the vehicle on behalf of the Authority in Guinea from UNOPS AFR WAMCO presented the vehicle to the management.

The FDA Management onward presented the vehicles to the East Nimba Forest Chief Park Warden and the Awareness and Ecotourism Division of the institution.

In addition to the vehicle, the East Nimba Forest received laptop-Lenovo, printer-HP Laserjet and laptop Screen for office use.

FDA Acting Managing Director, Madam Gertrude W. K. Nyaley, who received the vehicles, applauded the partners for the gesture, and assured them that the vehicles and all other donated items will be used for the intended purposed.

Madam Nyaley reaffirmed FDA’s commitment in partnering with Wild Chimpanzee Foundation and WAMCO Guinea in preserving the country protected forest.

She urged the recipients to take the items as their own, and handle them with proper care to improve the working of the institution.

She said the FDA Management will closely keep monitoring the vehicles regarding it usage.

The presentation of the vehicles was done in the presence of the Deputy Managing Director for Administration and Finance, Victor W. Kpasiah, and the Deputy Managing Director for Conservation, Community and Carbon, Madam Nora Bowier.
