Duncan Criticizes Weah

By Domingo Dargbeh

Sinoe county Senator, Crayton Oldma Duncan, has carped former President George Oppong Weah for failing to improve the lives of ordinary Liberians while serving as a president.

‎Duncan said Weah did nothing to improve citizens’ life during his six-year regime.

“It was the same citizens, who supported you since 2005. The ordinary people stood up in the rain and sun to make sure Boakai becomes the president against your desire for the top job, because you failed to perform.

Duncan expressed disappointment in Weah’s leadership, stating that the ex-footballer seemingly prioritized “personal luxury over public welfare.”

“Instead of focusing on the lives of Liberians, Weah was more concerned about building for himself, “before he turns to us.”

‎Duncan remarks come at a time when many Liberians are grappling with economic challenges, including high unemployment rates, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to basic services, but remain loyal supporters of the Coalition For CDC.

This came as a result of Duncan triumphed welcome into the county by residents.

‎Duncan who declared his intention to contest for the Presidency in 2029, said

the need for leaders to be accountable to the people they serve cannot be overly emphasized.

“Electorates expectations were high, but it is disheartening to see those hopes dashed by the actions of ‘greedy’ politicians.”

‎‎The conversation around leadership and accountability

is crucial as the country prepares for future elections.

Citizens are increasingly demanding from their leaders to prioritize their needs, and deliver on promises made during campaigns.
