Director Peters Vows To Improve NIR

The Executive Director of the National Identification Registry Andrew Peters has vowed to improve the registration of the national identity cards to 90 percent within the next two years.

Director Peters stated that currently the registration of the national identity cards has been 14 percent but it will be increased the next two years.

NIR boss made the disclosed Tuesday when the Concerned Journalists Association of Liberia(CJAL) honored him as the Executive Director of the year 2024 held at his  office in Congo Town.

According to him, the NIR intent to form public, private partnership to ensure that more people are part of the e-registry.

He pointed out that the e-registry will be instituted in several entities across the country.

Director Peters stressed that the entity will execute its mandate as requires by law  to generate more revenues for government as well as create more short and long term jobs for Liberians.

He said under his stewardship the NIR will advance to another level and not just to register the Liberian people.

He maintained that the improvement of the registry to ensure that the actual identification of Liberians and location toward the pending elections in 2029.

Director Peters emphasized that the issued of voter trucking will be curtial in 2029 general and presidential elections.
