ANC Youth Congress Condemns Presidential Villa

By Domingo Dargbeh

The Indomitable National Youth Congress (INYC) of the opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC), has voiced its disagreement with the reported construction of a Presidential Villa in Foya District, Lofa County, with a staggering estimated cost of over US$10 million.

‎At a news conference on Tuesday September, 30, 2025, INYC secretary-general, Alieu Kiadii, criticized the initiative as many Liberians grapple with pressing issues, which includes and not limited to unemployment, inadequate healthcare, and the lacked of basic infrastructure.

‎Kiadii said the INYC was deeply concern over the project lack of transparency and accountability, with the involvement of MUSNS Groups Incorporated, a company headed by a close associate of the President, has raised further suspicions.

‎‎“At a time when Liberians are crying for jobs, clinics, schools, and clean water, the decision to erect a luxury compound in the President’s hometown is not just insensitive; it is a betrayal of public trust.”

‎The group highlighted that the US$10 million earmarked for this estate could instead be utilized to build factories that would employ hundreds of locals, rehabilitates vital roadways, improves hospital facilities, and supports agricultural initiatives.

“This is not development, but a lost priority,” Kiadii said.”

He then called for an immediate answer regarding the project.

‎‎The INYC wondered as to who authorized the project; the source of funding; the PPCC oversight, and why it was not debated at the legislature?”

The ANC firmly believes that the presidency must prioritize the needs of the people rather than indulge in self-serving projects.
