YPLS Africa Program Manager, Alphia F. Kemokai, presented the award to Madam Sirleaf on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at her Monrovia residence. He reflected on Sirleaf’s early support for YPLS Africa, recalling that in 2016, when she became the first sitting president to endorse the program. “You started this journey with us, you inspired us a lot, and today, as we celebrate almost a decade of impact, it is fitting to honor you for standing with us since the beginning,” Kemokai told Madam Sirleaf as he presented the award to her with a loud applause. Since its establishment, YPLS Africa, a flagship initiative of Naymote Partners for Democratic Development, has trained over 1,200 emerging leaders from 14 African countries.
