The Plenary of the House of Representatives has mandated its Committees on Judiciary, Good Governance, and Ways, Means and Finance to review a specific draft bill.
The Bill titled: “An Act Establishing the Probate Court Division at the Nineth Judicial Circuit Court.”
The Bill provides the governance in Bong County, seeking to create the establishment of the Probate Court.”
The draft legislation, when enacted, seeks to create the Probate Court Division of the Nine Judicial Circuit Court, thereby strengthening the county judicial structure, and ensure more efficient administration of justice.
The decision by Plenary followed the submission of the draft bill by Rep. James M. Kolleh, of Bong County District #2, Representative.
Rep Kolleh appealed to the Speaker and his colleagues to give due consideration to the important nature of the proposed law.
In his communication, he emphasized that the establishment of a Probate Court Division within the existing judicial circuit would help enhance and strengthen the dispensation of justice, promote speedy trial of cases, and build public confidence in the judiciary. He also further that the creation of this court would help reduce unnecessary delays in the adjudication of cases pending before the existing courts.
Following the reading of the draft bill, a motion was proffered and subsequently endorsed by Plenary, mandating the Joint Committee to review the proposed legislation and report back within two weeks with findings and recommendations for further legislative action.
