The initiative to create awareness on the importance of using the internet responsibly, and it is Orange Group Initiative.
“In every country where Orange operates, you have the ‘For Good Connections’ awareness ongoing, and some countries have already completed their program, while in Liberia, Orange has just launched its own. At a press conference on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, in Monrovia, Orange Liberia Operational Human Resource Business Partner, Dr. Noosevett J. Weah, disclosed how the “For Good Connection” program was officially launched in 2025, in Monrovia, which brought together over 2,000 children, aged 11 to 16 years, along with their parents.
“For Good Connections is all about persevering Liberia’s next and future generation, and this is while Orange Liberia as a responsible company, has decided to update its many customers about the responsible usage of the internet or smartphones.”
Dr. Weah recalled how in total, the program has trained over 12,000 children in 15 different schools in Montserrado, Margibi and Grand Bassa counties.
“For this year, we have decided to cover three counties, and the first county we visited is Margibi, where hundreds of students gathered under the ‘For Good Connections’ initiative. We thought them about screen adaption; that is the longest time you spend on your screen. Cyberbullying; where you go to the internet and bully others, and inappropriate content, children between 11 to 16 should not go to the internet and click on an inappropriate content.”
The initiative is designed with a clear and urgent purpose, to promote safe, response and healthy digital habits among young people and communities. Dr. Weah named cyberbullying awareness, responsible internet usage and healthy screen time management as the three key pillars, which is at the heart of the ‘For Good Connections campaign.’ “Cyberbullying awareness helps students and young people to understand the term; how to recognize and to responsibly answer to it; responsible internet usage encourages positive, ethical and informed use of digital platforms and online spaces as well as healthy screen time management; raising awareness on the importance of balancing time spent on phones, social media, digital devices with real-life activities, learning and wellbeing.” Dr. Weah said, through the initiative, Orange Liberia is not only connecting people to the internet, but ensuring that connectivity is safe, meaningful and empowering.
“We are committed to build a generation that is digitally aware, protected and responsible, because true connection is not just access, but safety and purpose online.”
