Several Ambassadors Arrived

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, on Thursday, October 23, 2025, received the Letters of Credence from Berenice Owen-Jones, Ambassador-Designate of the Commonwealth of Australia, and Normal Ang Sanchez, Ambassador-Designate of the United Mexican States.

The ceremonies were hosted at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.

It follows the presentation of Letters of Credence on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from the Ambassadors-Designate of Spain, Pakistan, the Philippines, Ghana and Mali.

The occasions highlighted Liberia’s expanding diplomatic engagements, and growing global partnerships under Pres. Boakai’s Administration.

According to a release, presenting her credentials, Amb. Jones, expressed Australia’s interest in deepening cooperation with Liberia, particularly in areas of education, governance, climate resilience and sustainable development. She conveyed her government’s readiness to strengthen ties with Liberia, and explore new avenues for collaboration.

For Amb. Sanchez, his credentials highlighted Mexico’s desire to enhance bilateral cooperation with Liberia, focusing on trade, agriculture and cultural exchange.

He noted that Mexico sees Liberia as an important partner in advancing South-South collaboration, and mutual development goals.

Pres. Boakai, welcomed both ambassadors, commended their governments for their longstanding friendship with Liberia.

He expressed optimism that their respective missions would further strengthen diplomatic, economic and cultural ties.

The President spoke of his Administration’s strides in  rebranding country’s international image, and building meaningful partnerships that support the country growth and transformation.

The ceremony brought together senior government officials and members of the diplomatic corps.
