National Touch

Building A Robust Healthcare System

The importance of developing our own healthcare delivery cannot be overstated. In a world where wars disrupt, western countries and some nations are asking foreigners to leave, or the uncertainty that plagues our world, it is risky to depend only on traveling abroad for medical attention.

Building a robust healthcare system.

A robust healthcare system is not a choice; it is a necessity that must be prioritized.

A nation that cannot care for its citizens in times of health crisis is left vulnerable.

Therefore, we must rethink our reliance on foreign hospitals and instead invest in upgrading our own facilities.

To build a topnotch healthcare system, we must purchase modern equipment, pay medical practitioners well, and expand the number of clinics and hospitals.

When doctors and nurses are valued, they stay motivated and committed to saving lives. When hospitals are properly equipped, patients receive timely and effective treatment.

Healthcare should not be a privilege for the few who can afford to travel—it must be accessible to all citizens, right here at home.

A reallife example shows why this is urgent;

During the Ebola outbreak in Liberia, many families could not travel abroad for treatment. Local hospitals were overwhelmed, and the lack of equipment and trained staff cost countless lives. If our healthcare system had been stronger, more lives could have been saved.

That painful lesson should push us to act now. By investing in healthcare, we protect our people, strengthen national pride, and ensure that in times of crisis, we can stand on our own.

A healthy nation is a strong nation, and Liberia must make healthcare a top priority.
