Pleebo Residents Honor Superintendent Toe

Residents of Pleebo, Maryland County, gave a warm traditional welcome to the county’s newly appointed and confirmed Superintendent,  Nathaniel Toe Jr.

Superintendent Toe Jr. was appointed by President Joseph Boakai, citing his dedication and proven leadership ability in Maryland County as former Development Superintendent.

His appointment followed the replacement of former Superintendent Henry Cole — a move that has brought joy to many citizens who cited concerns over the former official’s leadership and commitment to service.

As part of the Pleebo welcome ceremony, community members gave the Superintendent a white chicken and white kola nuts.

In Maryland’s cultural tradition, the items symbolize peace, unity, and goodwill, and are used to invoke blessings for a leader’s tenure.

During the presentation, Pleebo residents also pledged their unflinching support and commitment to work alongside Superintendent Toe Jr. to advance development and improve livelihoods across the county.

The official induction ceremony is expected in the coming days as locals in Maryland are making preparations to formally usher in the new administration. Superintendent Toe Jr. is anticipated to focus on unity, accountability, and service delivery.
