The Executive Director of Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC), has called for systemic reform in education.

Mr. Jackson J. Paye said, the reform should be done in a broader framework.

He added: “The lack of reform continues to persist, raising questions about the long-term impact of these initiatives in the system.”

In his address over the weekend at the graduation ceremony of Christ’s Victory International School system, Paye underscored both the potential and challenges facing the youth.

“Success in life depends on being ready to take up the challenge.”

He spoke of the necessity of perseverance, and sacrifice in the pursuit of one’s dreams.

Paye’s remarks came amid growing concerns about the country educational landscape, particularly for the underprivileged, including orphans and widows.

He extolled the institution progress with a specific reference to the construction of a new basketball court, and other facilities with the aim to enrich students’ experiences.

Mr. Paye meanwhile, urged the graduates to reflect on hope and the daunting reality that not all students will have access at the same opportunities.

As he recognized the challenges facing the students, Paye said, the challenges are not solely the responsibility of individual institutions.

He therefore called for urgent need of ongoing support and resources to ensure that these students can indeed navigate the complexities of life beyond graduation.

Mr. Paye also described the commitment to instill values and skills as commendable, but said, it must be accompanied by tangible actions and systemic change to ensure that all students have the chance to succeed.
