Konneh Pushes For Honesty

Gbarpolu County Senator, Amara M. Konneh, has called on national leaders to reflect more on the national healing process.

Konneh wants honest approach and action from national leaders towards the country’s healing process and reconciliation.

He said, the country’s story over the period is sad as such, requires honesty and hard work to help address the issue.

Sen. Konneh spoke at the opening of a recent national gathering in Monrovia.

“The country,” he said, “cannot concede to the journey of self-discovery, therefore, the people and national leaders should be honest and reflect on the country’s past.”

Konneh wants Liberians to question each other if the nation and its people have learned from the bitter history.

He said, the country will be 178 years on July 26, “it is yet to discover itself.”

He meanwhile, appreciated all partners for helping the process to reconcile and heal the country’s ugly past.

Sen. Konneh then encouraged his colleagues to continue supporting the works and operations of the office for the Establishment of War and Economic Crimes Court with the necessary resources.

He recalled how every citizen encountered a bitter experience of the civil conflict.

Therefore, he called on every Liberian not allow their emotions of the past take over their present thinking to move the country forward.

“We should not influence the process politically, we should not target people because of personal issues, but should follow the due process,” he remarked.
