Police officers assigned in Grand Kru County are investigating the death of 47-year-old Aloysius Kun.

Kun (late), was a resident of Bolloh District, Baforwhen, but was reported missing on March 23, 2026.

Later, he was found dead in a forest on March 26.

According to Police Patrol Officer Prince G. Yancy, the victim went into the forest around 2: p.m. on March 23 to clear a water pathway under his chainsaw planks, but did not return home.

As a result, his wife, Mrs. Janita Kun, notified the town chief, prompting a search led by community members.

Upon receiving information about the discovery of Kun, Officer Yancy and a team of police officers arrived at the scene on March 27 at 11 a.m.

The victim was found lying on his back, face up, wearing red shorts and a gray T-shirt, with his trousers down to his knees.

Health worker Mathan S. Toe, examined Kun and pronounced him dead.

The District Coroner, Koffa Nimely, convened a 15-member jury that conducted a preliminary investigation.

Their findings indicate that the victim died from gunshot injuries to the left side of his face and the back of his head.

The case has been classified as a “homicide,” as further investigations are ongoing.

Police officials said the investigation is still in its early stages.

They have meanwhile, appealed to the public for any information that could assist in identifying anyone responsible.
“Community cooperation is essential in helping us bring justice for the victim. We urge anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward immediately,” Officer Yancy said.

The police however confirmed that Kun remains have been released to the family, received by his brother Nathan S. Toe, while law enforcement continues to gather evidence and follow all investigative protocols.
