In Profile @ 18

-The Journey Continues

The In Profile Daily turns eighteen (18) years today. Since founded in April 2008, the paper has remained one of the primer media institutions operating in Liberia.

It is a public relation, print, media development and advance business innovations’ organization that has been working with both national and international organizations and partners.

The paper has a strong community engagement strategy often being used to create avenues for enrichment, empowerment, sustainability, particularly among youths and women. It commits itself to advancing democracy, increasing public awareness on issues that matter most to the growth and development of Liberia, especially issues of youth development, community advancement, environment, sustainable growth as well as energy and power sector.

From a bi-monthly entertainment publication, the In Profile repositioned itself to a daily political and developmental newspaper thereby gaining its prominence with an array of columns and features published. These include the famous Personality Profile, Poetry, Around Town, He Says, She Says, amongst others.

The period of transition was made smooth with Rosetta K. Saye as General Manager and Sam Van Kesselly (the late) as Managing Editor, backed by the management, editorial staff, reporters, sales staffers as well as some media professional colleagues and associates.

Established and championed by top-notch reporters and support staff, the paper became and still is one of the foremost sources of public information and education in Liberia.

Over the years, the In Profile has been a conduit for training young reporters, graphic artists and administrative staffers. At its peak in time past, the paper had 16 people on staff as full-time employees, excluding part-timers, freelancers and contributors at base and across the country.

Regardless of tribe, sex, religion, education and origin, the In Profile Inc. built on youthfulness and inclusiveness has strived to create an environment of equality. This mood is being demonstrated by continuous motivations and training of more women into reporting and elevation into management leadership, considering the under-representation of women in upper management in the media landscape in Liberia.

Although less staffed now than before when it was at its peak, the paper recognizes the efforts of the following innovators:  Publisher/ CEO, Carlton G. Boah; Barbara Synder, General Manager; Martha E. A. Akorsah- Robinson, Marketing Manager; Yassah Wright, Senior Reporter, and Theresa Delamou-Lander, Senior Graphic Artist.

Meanwhile, the Management of In Profile Daily said the paper will maintain its credibility that wowed both international and local business customers with high and low volume adverts from the beginning; adding, “That momentum continues today…”
