House Refutes Alleged Plan To Remove Deputy Speaker Fallah

The House of Representatives has strongly rejected so-called media report that allegedly implicated members of the House of the Representatives over the removal plan of Deputy Speaker Thomas P. Fallah, to be replaced by Representative Sekou Kanneh.

The House described the report as baseless, termed it   as not factual, but only intended to undermine the unity of the House.

Recently, there have been some rumors circulating in the media over an alleged planned removal of House Deputy Speaker but  a statement  coming from the House of Representatives has termed the claim as pure fabrication and political gossip, making it clear that there is absolutely no plan, discussion, or resolution—formal or informal—pertaining to the removal of the Deputy Speaker.

In fact, at present, Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon and Chairman on Executive Sekou Kanneh are out of the country on legislative duties, while Deputy Speaker Fallah is serving as Acting Speaker,” the House has indicated.

“Deputy Speaker Fallah is not just an ordinary legislator. Having served continuously in the Liberian Legislature since 2005, he is widely respected by colleagues and fondly referred to as the “Doyen of the Legislature. He continues to enjoy the full confidence and support of Speaker Koon and members of the Honorable House of Representatives.

“We call on the media to uphold professional and ethical journalism, rather than engaging in the circulation of propaganda,” the House’s statement noted.
