HoR Warns Gbarpolu Rep. Collins

-Climaxes In-House Training

The Leadership of the House of Representatives has issued a formal warning and directive to Gbarpolu County Electoral District #2 Representative Luther Collins.

Collins is being warned for his continued failure to comply with a mandate of the Plenary concerning his conduct toward Prince A. Toles, Representative of Electoral District #8, Montserrado County.

According to the directive, Plenary had earlier resolved that Rep. Collins issue a formal written apology to Rep. Toles, and ensure its publication in three local daily newspapers.

The decision followed an incident considered an attack on the person of Toles, and was intended to uphold the dignity, integrity, and decorum of the House, as well as promote mutual respect among the lawmakers.

The House of Representatives reaffirms its commitment to maintain order, discipline, and respect within its ranks, and urges Collins to act promptly to resolve the matter.

In a related development, the House has  climaxes it first in-house hands on training.

The newly established internal audit department at the House of Representatives, has climaxed its first in-house refresher hands-on training.

The training was held to strengthen staff capacity, enhance practical knowledge, and improve overall team performance.

The two-day event commenced on Wednesday, April 1, and concluded the next day.

It brought together members of the department for a comprehensive learning experience designed to reinforce professionalism and efficiency in internal audit operations.

The training focused on refreshing core competencies, introducing updated practices, and providing participants with practical, hands-on experience directly relevant to their roles within the department. Key focus areas of the training included: review of core ethics; introduction to fraud investigation data integrity and Key components of internal audit.

The director Togba Emmanuel, highlighted the importance of continuous professional development in ensuring accountability and transparency within the House of Representatives.

 Emmanuel encouraged staff to take full advantage of the knowledge gained; apply the refreshed skills in their daily duties to strengthen the effectiveness of the department.
