The new commander is Assistant Commissioner of Police, Bicarbai Jallah.
Jallah officially took over from Clement Bartlett during a formal handover ceremony held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, in Barclayville City.
The colorful, but significant ceremony, brought together officers of the LNP assigned in the county, local government officials, community leaders, and residents, who gathered to witness the peaceful transition of leadership in the county’s security sector.

He noted that effective policing can only be achieved through mutual trust and cooperation.
“I am here to work with the people of Grand Kru County in ensuring peace, safety, and security for everyone. My administration will prioritize community engagement, respect for the rule of law and swift response to security concerns in every part of the county.”
The outgoing Commander Bartlett, thanked officers and residents for the support and cooperation accorded him during his period of service.
He urged members of the detachment to extend the same level of cooperation and professionalism to Jallah.
Bartlett described his time in the county as one filled with both challenges and achievements. He added that collective efforts from officers and community members contributed to maintaining stability in the county.
Several local officials who attended the program welcomed Jallah, and expressed hope that his leadership would further strengthen security coordination and public confidence in law enforcement.
Residents meanwhile, called for increased police presence in communities, improved response to crimes, and stronger engagement between law enforcement officers and youth groups.
The turnover ceremony marks another administrative transition within the LNP as authorities continue to strengthen security operations and effective policing nationwide.
