If President Joseph Nyuma Boakai listens to the advice from political commentator, then he would dismiss four of his cabinets anytime soon.
Henry P. Costa, a political commentator and an executive of the opposition All Liberian Party (ALP), issued a strong criticism of several senior officials.
On that reasoning, Costa called for their immediate dismissal of the four ministers for their “poor performance, deception and failure to deliver justice.”
On Sunday night, October 27, 2025, during an interview with Stanton Witherspoon of Spoon Network, Costa discussed a range of national issues, including governance, corruption, and political leadership.
Costa, a staunch supporter of Pres. Boakai, defended the president’s leadership, but cautioned against comparing him to former President George Weah.
He described such a comparison as “an unacceptable abomination.”
Mr. Costa said Pres. Boakai’s moral integrity and commitment to reform set him apart from Mr. Weah, his predecessor.
To his criticism inward, Costa accused Counselor Bushuben Keita, the President’s Legal Advisor of giving “poor counsel” to the president, and urged that he be replaced.
He also called for the removal of Justice Minister N. Oswald Tweh, whom he claimed, has failed to prosecute individuals accused of corruption.
Costa was particularly harsh toward Minister of State Without Portfolio, Mrs. Mamaka Bility. He also accused her of attempting to deceive both the President, and the Liberian public over the controversial 285 yellow machines deal.
“For attempting to steal from the Liberian people, and deceive the President, Mrs. Bility should be dismissed,” Costa advised.
He also criticized the Minister of State nominee Samuel Stevquoah, claiming that he “lied during his confirmation hearing” when he denied knowledge of the US$10 million Foya project, and insisted that he should be reprimanded.
On matters of public communication, Costa advised the Ministry of Information to “recalibrate its communication strategy” by focusing on promoting government’s achievements rather than fueling unnecessary confrontations with the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).
Costa also revisited his brief alignment with the CDC in 2023, saying it was like “an angry lover flirting (toying) with another man just to attract their partner’s attention.”
He explained that his frustrations were never directed at Pres. Boakai, but rather at certain members of the governing Unity Party, who he said, mistreated him.
“The President is a good person,” Costa said of Mr. Boakai.
In a sharp dismissal of opposition leader Alexander B. Cummings, Costa said that “even if Mr. Cummings dedicated his entire life to running for office, he would still not succeed.”
Shortly following his appearance on the program, Costa posted a brief remark on his official Facebook page: “Well, there you have it! Man talked plenty tonight!”
Henry Pedro Costa is a Liberian award-winning radio talk show host, political commentator, politician, philanthropist and entrepreneur, who is popularly known by his followers as “The Voice of the Voiceless.”
